This guided tour includes transportation by ATV or Scooter, and provides you with interesting stops throughout the indigenous community.
Your guide will be waiting for you in the center of Puerto Viejo to take you to pick up your scooter or ATV. Betwen 30 and 45 minutes later you'll arrive at the indigenous reservation. In total, the tour will last about 4 hours.
This is an opportunity to see another part of the Caribbean Coast that is "off the beaten path."

While inside the Talamanca Indigenous Reservation, your guide will show you how and where local handcrafts are made by the indigenous people. And, of course, you'll have an opportunity to purchase some souvenirs. You'll also have the chance to cross a footbridge and interact with one of the oldest tribal chiefs (from the "Bribri" tribe) in the Talamanca Reserve.
Throughout the trip your guide will explain to you the fascinating history of the region and the people who live there.

After a fun ride, it's time for the Volio Waterfall! The waterfall itself is not difficult to reach, but you'll want to have comfortable walking shoes. The waterfall is very impressive and inviting, so you're sure to have an exhilarating time jumping into the water or just hanging out beneath the falls in the water, enjoying the natural massage provided by the cascading water.
During the whole trip, you'll be surrounded by birds, butterflies and other jungle animals. The feeling of tranquility and the sounds of nature will make it difficult to head back home!
People of all ages area welcome. Young children can ride on your back as you hike in. You may also want to try a "typical" lunch in the home of one of our local indigenous families.
