Eight-Day Sampler Package Sample Itinerary
Arrive at San Jose International Airport (SJO) where you'll be picked up by our driver who will be waiting outside holding a sign with your names on it. He will make sure you have everything you need and will take you to the Don Carlos Hotel in the historic and trendy neighborhood of Barrio Amon in downtown San Jose. Here you can explore the city, have dinner and relax for the evening.
Wake and, enjoy your breakfast (not included in price) and prepare to be picked up by your driver at 8:00 am in order to be transferred to the Arenal Manoa Hotel in La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano area). You'll arrive at approximately 11:00 am

Unpack, relax, enjoy lunch in their amazing restaurant (lunch not included in price), then take a dip in the pool - all whilst enjoying the breathtaking view of the volcano.
Arenal Volcano Hike and Hot Springs Tour:
(Pick-up is at 3:30 pm in the hotel lobby)

Hike through lush rainforest with a naturalist guide close to the base of the Arenal Volcano where we wait for sunset at the observation point. As it starts to get dark, on clear nights you can see the amazing lava flow of Central America's most-active volcano. Hike duration: 2.5-3 hours Includes: guide, transportation, entrance to private reserve and volcano viewpoint. At about 7:00 pm you'll be dropped-off at Baldi Hot Springs (admission also included). There is a restaurant where you can enjoy dinner (not included), or enjoy drinks in the swim-up pool or bar. Your transportation is scheduled to bring you back to your hotel about 9:00 pm, but if you'd like to stay longer, you can take a very short (1 or 2 miles) back to your hotel via taxi.
Enjoy your included breakfast and prepare for transfer to your host family in La Fortuna. For the next few days you will be volunteering with our Wildlife Rescue Center. This project began 12 years ago and was founded by a local veterinarian and his son. It is a beautiful and tropical haven located on 8 acres of property near the Arenal Volcano. Volunteers at our Wildlife Rescue Center will help with the daily tasks of feeding and caring for our animals, along with basic cleaning and maintenance.

Today we'll continue our volunteer work at the Wildlife Rescue Center. In the afternoon we'll visit either the Children's Eternal Rainforest or a local women's association where the women of the community have formed a group to create art and homemade paper products.
After breakfast, you'll be picked up and will head to the Tamarindo Beach Area where you will relax into your premium lodging for the next 2 nights at the famous Cala Luna Hotel. Enjoy their tropical architecture, pool and fine dining restaurant. On our way we'll stop for a Canopy Tour / Zip-Line Adventure! After your safety briefing and training, we climb up a winding staircase of 17 meters, ready to start our journey on the system of cables, increasing in distance while we swing from platform to platform. All platforms are made of metal; they are designed and built with the highest standard materials to provide the best quality and safety for everyone. Our Canopy Tour is 1600 meters in total; on the tour you will encounter many species of trees, vines, reptiles, mammals and plenty of birds.
SURFING LESSONS!!!
The whole family enjoys a couple of days on the beach, including 2-hour group surfing lessons each day!

Enjoy the beach, check out the action in town, dine at the wonderful restaurant at your hotel, or check out the many other dining options in the Tamarindo Beach Area.
Sadly, it's already time to begin your journey back home. Enjoy your breakfast, take the time to say goodbye to Costa Rica and your new friends. Your driver will meet you in the lobby at about 7:00 am (or 2:00 pm - your choice) to take you back to the San Jose area. You will be dropped off at the Hampton Inn & Suites by the airport, where you will enjoy free internet, free unlimited international calling, relax by the pool, and have plenty of time to visit the casino next door. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, but there are three in the parking lot of the hotel, all which offer room service.
The hotel will bring you in their shuttle to the airport, which is less than 2 minutes away. You'll want to check in at least a couple of hours early. And please don't forget your $26 per person exit tax. Thanks for visiting us and we hope to see you again soon!
